Can anyone share their perceptions of the number of family members allowed to attend the I-Day swearing in? We live about 2 hours from the Academy and several family members have expressed interest in coming to see our son's swearing in. He is also going to have a private swearing in by an uncle. Any info about what to expect and how many people are allowed would be great.

USNA is open to the public, as are the I-Day events. I am not aware of any limit to the number of guests that can attend. You PTR will tell you that personal oaths are administered in Smoke Hall, on the lower level of Bancroft. I saw several wily USNA veterans conduct the ceremony in T-Court, after the general swearing in. There is a huge press of people trying to get to Smoke Hall to witness the personal oaths, and this is one place where the number of guests you invite will be a problem. My suggestion would be to administer the oath in T-Court, just outside of Mother B.
