I remember finding this forum during my DD’s application process for the national Army ROTC scholarship. Such a great source of information and encouragement over the years, and so many people that feel more like friends than anonymous people on a forum. She started as a nursing scholarship recipient, but had a change of heart her sophomore year and was granted a scholarship transfer from nursing to a line scholarship. She commissioned last year and received her first choice branch of Infantry.
This morning she graduated from Infantry BOLC at Fort Benning. To hear her name called was emotional for this Mama and I am so proud of her. This is the beginning of her career and just like at the beginning of her education, I cannot wait to see all the things that come next for her.
I remember someone saying, (I don’t remember which member said it when she and others received their scholarships), this is just the beginning. I remember also feeling that when she graduated and commissioned last May, and I feel that again today. This is really just the beginning. For anyone reading this that is just starting school in the fall, this is just your beginning, but a very big one, and it goes so fast!
