Will i be guaranteed a career in the Space Force if i take the space warfighting minor, and take computer science and score high on my ASVAB and I am good at what my career asks for

I can be wrong, but I believe you can commission into either the Air Force or Space Force upon graduation. With that, the ASVAB is for enlisted.

thank you, but like it is possible that they would put me in the air force instead of the space force if i have the space warfighting minor and everything

USAFA now direct commissions into both Space Force and the Air Force. There isn't an ASVAB you have to take, but your career choice is determined by your class ranking in your graduating class. The top of their class usually get their first choice, and then it depends on the availability when it gets to you.

If the slot you want isn't competitive amongst your graduating class, then you shouldn't have to worry about competing against other people. Top slots that are competitive are usually pilots, OSI, and a few other careers.

USAFA isn't going to MAKE you go to the Air Force if you want to go to Space Force. It's your choice to pick what branch you would like to serve.

Impossible to tell at this time as Space Force is very new and there is not track record for how many applications they will get and how many slots they will offer in the near term much less four or five years from now.

From what I can see, the Air Force/Space Force combination vis-a-vis USAFA is somewhat similar to how USNA grads can enter the Navy or the Marine Corps. I can assure that there are USNA grads at times who do not get what they wanted in the USN/USMC decision for a variety of reasons.

Hey! I'm a doolie right now at USAFA and we just received our Space Force brief, so I might be able to answer some of your questions.

The Space Force is a very small branch, they estimate only having up to 9,000 active duty personnel. What that means for cadets is that there are roughly 60 slots for commissioning into the Space Force, the actual number might be lower. If you want one of those slots, you'll need to have a high class ranking and demonstrate to the board that you are committed and interested in space warfare. The space war fighting minor will help a lot with that, other majors such as astronautical engineering and space operations are highly sought after. Your chances will also vary depending on what you want to do in the Space Force. If you've got more questions, just shoot em my way. I hope this helps!
