I am currently a junior who is interested in enlisting in Air National Guard. What difference would this make to my application to USAFA? Would it hinder my chances at all? Does one suggest it or not and why? Thanks all!

If I were to enlist in air NG I would have a better understanding of military life and I would also have a better idea of what I wanted to do in the Air Force. So when I start applying to the Academy and have my interviews I will be able to give them a certain answer. Also, I want to get involved in Air Force as quick as possible; If I were to enlist in air NG I would be able to be in the Air Force my senior year then be able to attend a four year college (hopefully Air Force Academy or ROTC) and become an officer. The main purpose is to have prior Air Force knowledge and understanding and to have a certain career in mind.

Your enthusiasm is commendable but your plan, while it seems logical on the surface, is not wise . This question has been asked numerous times on the forum and there are very many threads on the subject. Rather than re-hash it all, I would suggest you use the search function for those threads and go through them all.
