Striving to hit the 60 hand release pushup max with ease on the ACFT (within 2 mins). I can currently hit that number in time but it becomes damn difficult and my form may start to break down towards the end. I’m looking for training schemes/methods that will help me achieve this goal. As of now at the end of every lifting/cardio session I simply do 2 minutes of HRPs, as if I were actually taking the ACFT, to get more comfortable at that end range of reps and grow muscle memory. I’m a tall dude so this is the toughest event for me.

I’m doing 2 mins of HRPs nearly every day and I’ve grown to think it may be possible I’m overtraining and not allowing my upper body to rest/grow.

Any advice?

Do iterations to get to 60. Like 40 rest for 30 seconds then the remaining 20. As it gets easier increase the first set.

Biggest thing is keep doing the exercises cumulatively. Remember ACFT requires energy on all six events with minimal rest. Too many folks burn out on the last two events.
