Hey all,

I recently received an email from someone in the Office of Admissions and I have some questions!

1. What usually happens with things like this? My suspension was for something non-violent, non-hateful, non-property damaging (just really stupid). I also got a letter from my principal that summarized the events and gave a testimony of my character today. They also said my info will be referred to the Character Review Committee and I was wondering what happens from there.
2. What does this mean for my application process? Without getting too much into reading the tea leaves, does this mean that USNA is actively looking at my application, or is this more of an automatic thing? If so, does a waiver request hinge on me passing through this (been waiting for ~2 weeks).

If anyone has any additional advice or experience with this kind of situation, please leave a comment and let me know!

Seems like they just want to see what happened! I wouldn’t personally be worried, as you said, it was just something stupid. Plus, your principal gave a character review, and that should carry a lot of weight!

I think as long as you explained everything to your fullest ability you should be fine. Personally, I got a speeding ticket that was then marked down to a parking ticket so I had to fill out the something like that as well. Which was also sent to the character review board!!

You're in a similar situation to me when I got referred to the character review committee a few months ago. My main advice is to not panic, take things slowly, and always refer your statements or other items to a trusted mentor first.

Unfortunately, you will not find out the results of this committee (I still don't know mine), but as long as you tell the whole truth, I am sure you will be fine.
