I've been checking the thread on appointments to the USAFA class of 2024 (and other offers) and there appears to be very few people from Florida on there as of yet. Does Florida tend to get their decisions later or is there some other factor i'm missing? If they do tend to get theirs later does anyone have a rough time frame?

The biggest factor is how many Floridians know about this site AND post here, in any given cycle.

Search for the 2023, 2022, 2021, etc., threads, have fun trying to extrapolate a pattern.

You are in The Long Wait.

After taking a look through a few threads there seems to be a small pattern of a few in Florida getting appointments around the same time (with a few recent threads having said groups around this time) but the time generally varies. Essentially there's no pattern lol.

I was wondering the same thing, but for Colorado. I only see one one the list right now, and I know there was like 7 or 8 on there last year

Here's a rough look at the Florida USAFA appointment dates for the class of 2021, 2022, and 2023.

I personally know several Floridians who have received appointments, but are not on SAF.

Mind if you post Texas for USAFA and USNA😁

Thanks!

So aircat, that's quite a spreadsheet you're flashing there. Had a little free time during the wait, did you? 👨‍🎓 :shake:

Yes, I'm doing all I can to keep my mind off the waiting for my DD and this stuff keeps me distracted.

If interested, here's a chart of reported appointments for the class of 2024 for USAFA, USNA, and USMA.

Moderator Note: I’ve changed the name of this thread to “Individual State Appointments?” to reflect the inclusion of other states besides the original one. It is also to discourage the creation of separate threads for each state.

Florida is an interesting case. There are 27 Congressional districts. Last year there were 11 self reports from Florida, but 5 and 6 the prior two years. This year there are 6 self reports to date. Use of this site for self reporting is increasing over the years. There are currently a total of 149 self reports for all states. Last year there were 174. It seems likely this year will follow the past year's pattern resulting in an overall increase in reporting. About the only thing any of us can do is guess, but it's not unreasonable to conclude there are a fair number of district appointments that have not yet been made. (SWAG = 15% or maybe 190 total remaining). Capt MJ probably has the right of it... All we can do now is wait.

Does anyone know, for the benefit of those of us still waiting, if regular "waves" of appointments like what we saw last Tuesday are still to come or are we in for a slow trickle? Also, looking for some more Nebraska appointments.

I've seen three self-reports from Maryland for Class of 24' and only one of those three have accepted. Is there a "quota" each state needs to fill? So does those two appointees declining their appointment increase my chance of getting an appointment? I'm desperate for some more hope that I'll get an appointment. I missed the first wave.

Some wonderful people have posted graphs of self-reported appointees throughout the years. According to those graphs there's another wave coming sometime in April. Refer to the 2024 Appointment Thread
