Hello, I am an international candidate for class of 2025. Does anyone, by any chance, here knows if internationals have internship opportunities during 4 years spent in the academy ? I checked out the website and some of those internship opportunities look absolutely great but will I be able to apply to any one of them ? (ones that don't require the security clearance obviously)

I’m not sure any of the internships will require security clearance. I am pretty sure as academy cadets you will not be put into any role where you are handling information that requires any sort of security clearance. However so have no first hand knowledge of this.

Government major has internship opportunities at intelligence agencies like DIA, NSA (correct me if I am wrong-https://www.uscga.edu/government-internships). I imagine interning at DIA, CIA or NSA would be off limits for someone like me, but I wonder if other internship options will be available for international cadets.
Thank you.

Even interning at those agencies I doubt security clearance would be required for the work you would be doing as an intern.

Probably true and who pay for the clearance if one was required.

My son's billet at CENTCOM Forward required a TS. He did the paper work before leaving but the clearance didn't come back until over a year later when he had transferred.

Some internships do require security clearance (the NSA one you must get additional security clearance to what you get coming to CGA) but there are many others that don't. Additionally, I don't think that means they are entirely off the table. Once you get here, I'd suggest talking to your academic advisor. Usually, international students go back to their home countries for the summer but if you have a special interest it is more than likely your professors for your major will help you. Additionally, Internships typically occur after 2nd class year but since you have different summer obligations, this could be different for you.

Thank you for your answer. It all sounds great, hopefully I will get an appointment.

international candidate means non-US citizen?

You need the clearance to even enter the buildings at DIA, CIA and NSA, beyond that there should be other opportunities,
