Hello, I am a current 4th class cadet in AFROTC and I have really enjoyed the program. I applied to the Air Force Academy during my Senior year of high school and also applied again this year. I am expecting another go-around, so any tips for that would be appreciated. I currently play for my college's club ice hockey team and well as play trombone in the marching band. I am currently exploring my interest in aviation, though I have only taken a few lessons so far. I have been a nearly straight-A student (a few B's in college) and have declared my major as Electrical Engineering. Additionally, I plan on retaking the ACT this summer if needed. Any tips for applying for the Class of 2028 would be appreciated, though I hope not needed.

Welcome! Be sure to find the Acronym List on the home page.

Also, if I don't get accepted in this admissions cycle would it be beneficial for me to get my Private Pilot License?

If you desire to fly in the military, then the PPL can be helpful. However, I think your main focus should be expanding your résumé with leadership opportunities. Do you belong to the Arnold Air Society, for example? Perhaps find other ways that you may engage and work with others on campus or through volunteering. Keep up the nice work on your academics and doing well in AFROTC. Good luck with the next round!
