Highly variable. It would not be out of line to ask the congressional nomination coordinator about the "normal timeline." for their office.
Four years ago, my DS was invited by his MOC's coordinator for an interview with the nomination committee in September and scheduled in October. By the end of October, he was notified of his nomination by phone call to his school and he was called out of class to the office and spoke to the congressional rep, himself.
