Anyone with any information on how the academy is preparing for the on coming hurricane this weekend?

My mid told me last night that they were to be within an hour travel time this weekend but liberty has not been cancelled.

I imagine plans are "fluid". (not necessarily a pun.)

My DS has been involved in all aspects of weather-related events this summer:the midwest flood, earthquake, and now hurricane! He, too, said they were told to stay close to the Yard and be close enough that the Academy can get ahold of them! I am curious as to what other measures they take....like with all the USNA training vessels at the Yard. Let's all say a pray for all on the East Coast that everyone remains safe and out of harms way.

Love the Navy - I know I am butchering the terminology, but I know at least some of the boats have been put away (I know my mid called it something else, but I can't remember )

USNA has contingency plans for these type of weather events. From everything what/where YPs will go, to recall rosters, etc.

Just on Facebook and saw pics of hurricane preparations from Friday. I know it's a bit late, but thought I'd share.

DS called and said all was fine. No flooding. He wasn't too impressed by Irene, but then again we had Hurricane Ike's eye go right over our house a couple years back.
