Is a sport watch ACTUALLY necessary?

Will some don't agree with the idea of watches at USAFA BCT, I think it better prepares you the school year and life beyond USAFA. The AF values officers who can tell the time.

I'd argue the rest of the 4 years at USAFA are there to practice telling time for your life beyond USAFA (and I have a soapbox for how USAFA could do better to prepare you - so many things that could be done better) and that the point of BCT is decidedly NOT to prepare you for ac year but to transition you successfully from a civilian to military mindset and that having a watch makes a fundamental difference in that experience and not for the better - but that's just the opinion of a not quite old but feeling old grad.
