Is there an advantage to committing early?

I’m sitting in an acceptance to USMMA, but awaiting a response from USNA. ( I have a nom to USNA also) Am I hurting myself by waiting or does it not really matter?

You have until the deadline (01 MAY) to accept your offer of appointment. The timing is completely up to you with no advantage to accepting early. Many candidates are in your shoes using USMMA as a backup plan, and commit only after hearing back on all their options. Good luck with your decision.

There might be this year since we are starting tours, so if you commit you might be offered an overnight, but I am not sure the truth of that. Just wait for USNA.

I believe that is to acknowledge your LOA. DD received the same notice. At least that’s how we interpreted it.
That's not the way that it reads to us at least the package that DD got. Look at the form attached to the letter. Now she is also being recruited to sail at USCGA and she does not have an offer from them yet. I am not sure if KP is trying to get her to commit before USCGA gets an offer to her.

Our LOA stated commitment to continue application process. Not commitment to attend, I would think technically you can’t commit with LOA, you haven’t met all of the requirements.

I just pulled the letter… our verbiage is. “At the present time, I intend to complete all requirements for appointment to USMMA.”

I read that all about application process, not about accepting an appointment.

Yes that’s what we have. I think it’s more about completing the application process.
