Job placement after graduation

This is just what I heard from my C1C who has a pilot slot. Most of her friends did get the top 1 or 2 job they had hoped for but one of her friends got her 6-job preference. From what she heard for ENJJPT the selection seems to be tied to the top 10% or so of the graduating class based on grade point for those who had a job drop of pilot. ENJJPT is really back logged though with about a 2 + year wait time before you start flight training. For the ones she knows who got ENJJPT they all had stems degrees such as physics or engineering. Again, this is just the ones she knows. My daughter will graduate with a degree in Systems Engineering and a minor in Chinese. She was not sure what type of plane she wanted to hopefully fly so she was not interested in trying for ENJJPT. They let them rank the other UPT bases, and she did get the one she put down as her number 1. She has applied for graduate school at AFIT though since it appears that once you graduate the wait time to start UPT is about 1 year.

For ENJJPT this year, there were 35 slots and the top 175 pilot selects (5x the number of slots available) were allowed to apply based on their PCSM and OPA. The people who got it were all top 10% and high 80s-low 90s PCSMs. Training pipelines are improving a lot and at some bases are down to around 6 months of wait time. Even ENJJPT has improved to the point that ENJJPT IPs hope that wait times will be less than 1 year by the time we graduate.
