Was anyone here in USAFA's judo club? I have a few years experience, and I plan on joining. I have been in contact a bit with the coach already but I wanted to know about a member's perspective. What are the practices like? How often do you travel? General experiences? Thank you!

@KiwiBird , I have no answer for you on judo.

My advice: Keep all your options open. There are the things you have been doing and maybe that's what you really want to do at USAFA, but the world opens for you once you accept that appointment! I encouraged my DD to try out for anything that she found interesting, especially clubs or activities that would be cost prohibitive or very difficult to experience outside of USAFA. Don't forget other ECs, like Bluebards!

I’m still waiting on a decision from USAFA. Anyone know what it’s like to start martial arts at the academy? Is that part of any of the military training or does one need to join judo club for example? Just curious. I’ve been interested in learning martial arts recently

From what I know as an appointee, they do offer combative classes for PE classes. Good luck with your app!
