I assume you are talking about the dinner at the Academy?
It was casual....there is no real program or anything. You can sit with fellow company-mates and their parents. If I remember correctly after dinner we went outside and someone had taped up signs for each company. The kids got to meet and talk and parents took lots of pictures. You were also allowed into Chase Hall and could find your room and roommate if they were there.
All in all it was casual and informally unorganized...which is good, but for the next couple of weeks, their lives are going to be VERY organized!
Events, hosted by the USCGA Parents Association, are offered on Sunday for families who arrive early. Note, families and cadets must find their own accommodations.
There will be an optional "No Host" Buffet Dinner held in the cadet wardroom on the 28th of June, from 5 until 7 p.m. Parents of the Class of 2013 wishing to attend this optional event must send an RSVP to Donna Conley. Please include the number of persons attending the event (include your cadet). All RSVPs for this event must be received no later than 22 June, 2009. The cost of the dinner is $8.50 per person.
If you go to the USCGA website, you can email Donna Conley directly....I don't want to post her email here. If I remember correctly, you pay at the door. They just want an accurate cont now to order enough food.
