Hey guys! I am coming up on the beginning of my junior year. I am looking to attend West Point and am just wondering a few things.
Should I summit the pre-candidate questionnaire as soon as possible within the year and 2. How soon is too soon?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Many kids already started a file when they applied to the SLE when the app for that opened on 15 January so it wouldn’t be too early if you submitted a questionnaire now (assuming it’s opened for non-SLE applicants).

What happened soon after my DD submitted an SLE app on 15 January is the FFR sent an email to her introducing himself. If anything else, you’ll at least get a FFR to make contact with you if you open up a pre-candidate questionnaire.

Nothing is ever too soon in this process unless stated otherwise. You have a big list of things you must finish, but also remember that West Point looks at academics, physical ability, and leadership in their candidates. Make sure you maintain a strong GPA and work to keep improving your ACT/SAT. Stay healthy and work on all of your exercises you will be doing on your Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA). These include push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, shuttle run, mile run, and a basketball throw. You don't need to be involved in a surplus of clubs or sports, but make sure you are impactful in those groups through your leadership positions and work ethic. You have plenty of time to finish your application, until the end of next February. But beware, it comes up fast and you will want to knock out what you can when you can. Also be well informed on your Nomination processes, those are entirely different applications you must fill out but must be done to even be considered to get into the Academy. Good luck!
