An admissions officer (AO) just got back to me about the question I posed to them. This is the response: the applicants are NOT being notified by major. It is totally random.

Hope that alleviates some fears!
And as of today they have notified 50 applicants.

Remember all should be notified by Dec 23.
Good luck!!

Well dang. I haven't heard back yet and almost all of the appointments for EA have been notified already. Not sure why I wouldn't hear back yet but hopefully one of those 30 or so remaining involve my application, fingers crossed.

Did your AO mention when the reminder of decisions will be sent out? Or is is just anytime before December 23?

Yes that's not right, about 50% of all appointments are from EA. So only about a 3rd of that has been notified from what we have heard.

Any word on total number of Early Applicants and whether all EA files have been reviewed by Evaluation Board?

Not too sure about your math here. The info was that 50 applicants have been notified. That's roughly 25-30% of the total who are likely to be appointed EA, and I don't believe that includes CGAS.
See this thread for more details -- https://www.serviceacademyforums.co...action-statistics-classes-of-2018-2022.70638/

Thanks for the info! Someone had informed me somewhere along the line that only 80 EA appointments were too be made, must have been someone making a guess and stating it as fact, seems to happen a lot

My DS is waiting to hear from AROTC, congressional Nom, and the USCGA all this week. Talk about nerve racking!!

Sanmam is right. About 50% of all Appointments come from EAs. And about 300 in total receive Appointments. Those not making EAs may not make regular round. So some suggested don’t apply EA unless one is absolutely confident can be competitive in the EA pool.

For the class of 2022 I recall (from admissions) EA Appointed candidate class average stats of mid 50 percentile were:

ACT ENG 31, MATH 32
SAT (estimated recall) ENG 665, MATH 700+
GPA 3.8
Class Rank Top 10% (estimated recall)
PFE 241
AIM ALUMNI 50%
Varsity ~100% (guesstimate)
CPT/Leadership ~100% (guesstimate)
Scouting 50%+ (guesstimate)

Admission said they did a detailed study on Admissions process and procedures to make their process right for the type of best candidates to USCGA recruited throughout the country. They also worked closely with Yale conducting the study, benchmarks, and developing the final admissions and recruiting procedures. So I doubt they will deviate from this process YoY.
