ok I seem to have hurt my knee a bit . I run 40-50 miles a week and things were a little sore so I went for an MRI and have a slight (even tiny) tear in my meniscus. If I need surgery (big if here it is small and may not warrant surgery) but if it does will this be a DQ? My doc says I should be back to x country in no time. YIKES ! Any advice would be welcome, thanks!

In all likelihood, NO. DoDI 6130.4, Medical Standards for Appointment, Enlistment, and Induction, para E1.17.3.4 – “Current symptomatic medial or lateral meniscal injury is disqualifying.” Translated, this means unless you are having pain or instability or some type of dysfunction at the time of the exam, your knee would be fine. This is different than many standards where it is a “history of…” Meniscal problems are symptomatic at the time of the exam.:thumb:
