I just wanted to say that Larry Mullen is by far the most helpful person that I have met in this application process so far. His generosity and continuous help towards different candidates shows that DoDMERB is willing to help each and every candidate.
Just to give everyone an example of how nice he is:
I am scholastically qualified to the United States Naval Academy. However, I was medically rejected back in August. I expressed my frustration to Larry Mullen about how I was unable to get medically qualified, or at least get anyone to grant any sort of attention to my case. Of course, I wanted to get qualified as soon as possible so if I get my nomination, I would be considered for an appointment.
So, I posted something on this forum, expressing my frustration. Larry Mullen responded back quickly, and he said I should email him. I emailed him, and within a matter of minutes, I was on the phone with him discussing my current situation.
Then, Mr. Mullen said that he would be in contact with the Naval Academy about my medical status and that he would do all he could do to help me. We discussed my situation on the phone for about 15 minutes, and once again, he was of extroardinary help to me.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, this was all on a beautiful, Sunday morning in November.
This goes to show how committed Larry Mullen is to each candidate not only on this forum, but any candidate having trouble. It is people like him who make this arduous application process a bit easier, and relieve the enormous amounts of stress that all of us have experienced at one time or another.
His help should not be taken for granted; I understand that he works very hard and has a very busy job, and can only do so much for every candidate. For this reason, we should all respect him, thank him, and appreciate the fact that we have a person of his caliber here to help us along the way to achieving our dreams.
Once again, I just wanted to say thank you to Larry Mullen and all of his efforts towards me, for he went above and beyond what I expected anyone in this application process to do for me.
Hats off to Larry Mullen for being such a committed individual and going the extra mile for each candidate he has ever helped. Thanks.
