Late Appointment

If you received the call from your Congressman, then congratulations my man, you got an appointment to USAFA!! USAFA always tend to 'reverse' their decision roughly around this time, due to the fact that USAFAPS (United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School) students are graduating and now receiving their appointments; not every single cadet candidate was selected, as I know several that didn't make the cut due to academic faults. And there also people who denied their appointments. USAFA always gives the Prep School a portion of the total amount of appointments, therefore after people who failed to receive them or turned down the offer, more slots will be given to individuals that were initially given a TWE.

This can happen very late in the game as the final puzzle pieces drop. It happened to someone else this cycle who posts here, had received the form declination message, then a bolt from the blue. I would call Admissions ASAP! You may have decisions to make.
 
I hope my congratulations says enough! Keep an eye on your portal, you've got a lot to do in the next month!
 
Congratulations! It may take a few days for your Portal to update and you will only have a few days to accept or decline as soon as it does so keep an eye on it. You can always call admissions to confirm.

If you accept there is a lot to do in the next 30 days!
 
Go for the brass ring! As the first poster said, not all Preppies make it which opens up spots. Additionally, COVID has pushed everything to the right and the medical waiver decisions are not all complete. As USAFA gets DQs on medicals, some spots will come open. I anticipate a small trickle of appointments until the 1st of June.
