Late April decision release

Did your portal update today? Just wondering because I still haven’t gotten anything. I’m sorry to hear that though, the anticipation leading up to the answer “no” I can imagine is pretty tough.
Just got the TWE. Good luck to everyone else

Il be at virginia tech for a year for AFROTC, then hopefully USAFA class of 2027!
I got into VA Tech too for the VTCC but I feel that it is not where God is calling me. I will reapply for 2028 (mainly because I don't think I would have the time to form new connections in less than a year).

Just to respond quickly with regard to VP nom - USAFA handles the selection for where those are assigned, there are no VP staffers actively involved in the selection. I would suspect the majority of USAFA applicants apply for the VP nom, so it’s always a slim chance for those. They do get used, though, so hope is still there.

At this point, applicants should have their alternate plan ready to execute, while hope can remain alive until firm news of appointment yes/no arrives.
Thanks for the reply.

What CaptMJ said.

VP nominations are, in my experience, as rare as hens teeth. I have had one candidate receive ONE in 27 years as an ALO. That candidate was beyond amazing...but had no nomination (just one of those amazing years).
Thank you Sir @flieger83 for the reply and sharing your experience too.

Enlisted is a great option with the LEAD program, plus you would be getting paid instead of paying for college! Did you attend the Hokie Focus corps of cadets seminar by any chance?

I want to reapply, but there's no point. I had a strong application but still was rejected. At least I got into UCLA and my top school in my state. I also got an NROTC scholarship to the schools.
You are correct, I'm right there with you, no point, I have top grades (5 AP classes), test scores, sports, jobs, etc., and got the boot. So, I'm an AFROTC & NROTC Scholarship recipient as well, I just have to decide which school I will attend.

i feel the same way. i literally don't know what else i should/could improve upon that would make a considerable difference.

Tall_man- I truly wish you all the best. I have been rooting for you, especially knowing the absolute competitive nature of Northern Virginia. I hope you continue your quest and never lose your desire to serve. This Nation needs more dedicated and honorable people like yourself.

Rejection! But feels like that is God closing the door and we are excited to move forward with A&M and the Corps of Cadets.
Hard to say whose football crowd is better...Kyle Field or Beaver Stadium.... Though Aggie Band beats Blue Band hands down. Thankfully both kids' schools never played each other, though that might've been an interesting study... Gig 'em!

The only thing I could think of is the nomination. Being your rep's primary nomination is a big deal, isn't it?
