Late nominations

Hi all my son did not get in last yr. He is at college in ROTC. He just missed the deadlines to submit his application for an appt for nomination from the senators. He got 4 nominations last yr. He says on his portal it says he can get an Army or Rotc nomination. His ROTC commander doesn't know much about it. Does anyone know anything about these?

It is pretty simple. There is a form on his portal that the PMI of his ROTC detachment completes and emails to the RC.

He found out he can apply through ROTC for the nomination he said it's very competitive. He did go to the WP leadership camp. He's going head strong.
