I saw the recent thread about becoming a doctor after USMA and it got me thinking... Do they send people to law school straight out of the Academy too?

I'm not really interested in becoming a lawyer, I'm just curious. :thumb:

I have no idea, but I suppose they can have you sent you to the JAG Corps if I want.

No idea though.

From what I remember, I don't believe you can go to law school/branch JAG Corps out of WP. You have to branch one of the available and then be selected for a different program to get sent to law school and assigned to JAG or pay your own way for law school while serving and seek a transfer.

The path to JAG corps is the FLEP program. You cannot go to law school directly from any commissioning source. You must be an active duty officer for at least 2yrs. Then you can apply to the program, take the LSATs and apply to schools. If chosen the Army will send you to law school and then to JAG training.
