Leadership

Thanks :) I'll make sure to tell you how it goes. In other news my NHS hasn't turned out well. I guess they mailed the letters and eveyone got them this last Saturday but I didn't. So we calledthe school and apparantly they use the cumulative gpa from last year and things were rough for my the last half of the year cause I unexpectedly moved and when we had to take finals they made me take it on subject matter I hadn't been taught which killed my gpa for that. Made it a 3.2 I guess. I normally hover around 3.6 to 3.7 ( it'll be way higher this year because I'm going to try) but I need a 3.5 and I can easily keep over a 3.5 but they said I would have to wait till this time next year. Goingto try to talk to my guidance counselour about it tomorrow because I am way capable of NHS. And if I could just use like the grades I get from 1 qtr they'll see or if they look at my grades before the move and withut the finals (on things I hadn't been taught). Anyways hopefully it doesn't hurt my chances too much and if I can't get in this yer I'll be getting myself in next year for sure.

Don't give up, keep trying. Sounds like that is exactly what you are doing. Are you a junior in HS this year?

If you just moved, it may not be your GPA that kept you out, DS school requires a student to be in attendance a FULL semester before they are eligible for NHS, and since they only do it once a year, he had to wait an entire year. He moved to a new school his JR year and despite a 4.0 GPA, wasn't allowed entrance to the NHS until Fall of his Senior year. Your school may have a similiar policy.

Wines60, yes I am a Junior in HS this year.

Falconchic88, I'm not exactly sure what your saying, but I moved halways through my Sophomore year, finished the year there, then moved back this summer, they used my cumulative GPA from last year, and since that school made me do finals on subjhect matter I hadn't been there for it killed my GPA.

Anyways, I talked to my guidance counselour today and he understood my point, and told me that for Juniors there is 2 rounds of Invitations to NHS, but that I should talk to the teacher in charge of NHS, which im going to do tomorrow. So hopefully I can get her to see my point and let them use my 1st qtr grades form this year, or get that 2nd invitation the ocunselour said something about, I'll be asking about it though, and finding out.

Oh, falconchic, I understand what you were saying now, but I'll be finding out tomorrow...

So, I went to the meeting today, I walked in and they were talking about fundraising ideas for the club I guess, so they just bounced around ideas and I kinda just listened for this one. I'll be attending again next week. I start volunteering at the /ambulance Dept. at 7 tonight. And i forgot to talk to that teacher aqbout NHS today, but am going to tomorrow morning before class.

Really enjoyed the ambulance thing, going to keep going to that. Had alot of fun.
