I’m wanting to go to West Point and LETC sounds really interesting to me and I would like to know more about it. The description on the main website is brief and I would like to know what in specifics does this club do and train for. Also I’ll be going to SLE and do you guys think this would be a good question to ask them?
Thank you so much for your time.

A number of my students, who are now at West Point, belong to different clubs. None of them are members of the Law Enforcement Tactics Club. However, one of them is looking at being part of military police in the future -- he noted about 10 to 20 cadets typically go directly into the Military Police. The Army website, https://home.army.mil/wood/units-tenants/USAMPS, gives some insight including an outline of the credentials of the school's commandant and leadership staff. I'm sure others on the forum will provide some insights.

Unfortunately, USMA's website on clubs is very outdated and many of them - like LETC - are no longer a thing. There are plenty of similar clubs though such as FAST (Future Applied Systems Team), Irregular Warfare Club, etc.

My DS is on FAST and loves it. From its name, one would miss what it is that they do. In a nutshell, its like blending tech with combat. So adding drones, robotics, etc with Patrolling, CQB, room clearing, etc.

I remember thinking Plebe year that FAST was some boring, math club based on systems engineering, etc lol. That couldn't have been further from the truth! They do some amazing training!

So if LETC is no longer a thing what other clubs don't exist now?

There are honestly too many to list which clubs don't exist now, but I would focus on getting in and preparing for the academy as a whole first. There are many opportunities to familiarize yourself with clubs once here, including a Club Night for the whole Corps.
