Letter of Assurance!!

If you have an LOA and just need medical - what usually is the timeline for the waiver process after receiving the LOA?

Not sure you can say what is usual.

My son got his LOA as soon as he was 2q before medical - early December. He was DQ’ed for medical end of December after he took his eye test. The waiver process was initiated within one or two days. It took about a month for the waiver to be approved ... because his waiver needed to be approved by the Superintendent. Early February it was approved.

Last year my daughter received an LOA in November. She had to jump through some hoops in regards to being medically cleared. The LOA kept her focused that she would get in if she navigated the DODMERB process. She cleared DODMERB in February and was admitted.

I forgot to mention that I’m a late recruit as well, I didn’t know that they gave these letters as I am a reapplicant and I did not get one of these last year
My DS was a reapplicant also with a spring LOA. Portal said no action needed BUT really there was a DODMERB form he needed to complete so that prior year's medical could be used in 2nd application. (Just a form affirming he had no medical changes.) FWIW

"Just need medical" is the wild card there. If you actually need a waiver (for a DQ) from USNA, then that could happen (or not happen) any time between now and April 15th.

It can be days to weeks. It all depends on what your waiver is and how fast they are moving. There is no set timeline.

Arizonapride = Go to the DoDFMERB tab. See the response at the very top regarding the thread FAST

Little help here. On March 27 DS received a LOA conditioned on receiving a waiver for mild sports concussion. Accordingly, on his portal next Required Actions it said "Medical Qualification." Tonight, the Required Actions changed to "None." Application Status still says "Conditional Offer of Appointment LOA." Does this mean the waiver has been granted? DODMERB still says "Under Waiver Review." Any thoughts?

Mine still saying "Medical qualification."
Kind of an odd time to update but maybe it means you got a waiver? I would send an email to your counselor regardless.

All I can say, is I offered to help, but if you'd rather think and debates about it on a public website with total specualtion, by all means go for it :wiggle:
Surely not interested in debating or speculating. I'll have my DS email you.

I didn't even know you had a question. That was meant for the others. Finally going to be now. Will reply to questions tomorrow :wiggle:

My apologies. I know you are busy and trying to help as many people as you can. I just assumed you were joining our conversation. My bad. My DS will likely send you a mail anyway.

Before going to bed, am responding to Patrick77 and to another individual who didn't follow instructions with their Forums name....Will be done in the next 10 mins or so :wiggle:

That may have been my DS. He's not on the forum so he doesn't have a forum name.
