Looking for any input on having someone from your college NROTC unit write a letter of recommendation to the Academy. My son was QQQ with 2 nominations for the class of 2011, but did not get an appointment. He is currently a freshman, participating in NROTC and reapplying for the class of 2012.

Why not? He may even be able to get a service-connected nomination from his NROTC unit as well.
