Hey guys! I have a question, is there a limit on how many LORs I can submit in my USNA application? I'm currently asking about 7 people, a mix of officers, coaches, and superiors, in addition to the three required teachers. I'd like to hear thoughts on anything regarding LORs in the USNA app. Thanks!
 
Have you done a search at all to answer this question? Did you go to the usna.edu site and look for your answer?

Your question has been asked many times, Google it or search SAF.


Recommendations from teachers.

Does it matter which teachers we get our recs from? I heard english and math but I can't find that anywhere on their website.

Letter(s) of Recommendation

I was wondering if I can or should use the same letter(s) of recommendation for different MOCs and the USNA application itself. Or do I need different individuals for USNA application and the MOC nomination application? Thanks in advance.

Is this for USNA Admissions or MOC ? In either case, you are likely wasting the time of the writers and those who have to read them. More is not necessarily better.

For USNA Admissions, your Math and English teachers will be asked to do an EVALUATION, not a Recommendation. You will have the opportunity to add additional LOR's now, but read the directions from USNA carefully, and the many threads here on the topic -- bottom line, its not required, and if you do submit additional LORS, ensure they are meaningful , ie. written by someone who knows you, and who can add something to the application package. Multiple generic letters is not helpful, and can even be counter productive.
 
my daughter is class of 25 - she had to get math and English teacher evaluations completed - USNA sends them an email to do this - and she had the opportunity to send 1 additional letter of recommendation - which she chose her AP Chem teacher - that is it - now for the MOC they are all different - and you need to go to their website for directions.......
 
The USNA application has updated since past years. It used to be that you could submit English and Math teacher references and then it was unclear whether or not you could send additional letters. Now you can get the Math and English teacher references and three additional letters of recommendation. I didn’t figure it out until later in the application cycle, but I did have 5 letters of recommendation written on my behalf for USNA.

interesting my daughter was only aware she could submit 1 extra letter of recommendation - well she got in with that!

I didn’t see that there was a little plus sign below that section in the application where you could add other letter of recommendation until the end!
