Do you receive all benefits the same if you chose the reserves after USMMA instead of active duty? Or do you not receive all the benefits or lower benefits if you chose the reserves?

It depends ...

Being reservist at all will entitle someone to base access and some of the same benefits as Active Duty such as using a military exchange or pools and gyms

Some benefits require being Selected Reserve (one weekend a month/2 weeks a year) such as SGLI.

Some require a certain amount of reserve service in a certain number of years or participation in a campaign before they kick in such as the GI Bill or VA loans for example.

If you receive a "Reserve Commission" and do not do extended AD, then I do not believe ANY AD health benefits (medical, dental, eyes) are provided. If you do Active Guard/Reserves (drilling a weekend every month and two weeks a year ADT), my understanding is you can get medical and dental while doing your ADT, but not weekend drill. If you do your obligated service, then 180 days consecutive AD, you are eligible for VA benefits after you leave service. Any injuries incurred "in the line of duty" would be covered by the VA as long as you separated under a medical or honorable discharge.

If you are asking about enlisted reserves, the same provisions apply during your service, and the same 180 days of AD requirement for VA, but after your 6yr reserve obligation (as long as you accumulate 180 days ADT) you are eligible for VA Healthcare. As enlisted you only have to complete your "contracted obligation" not the additional time officers need due to obligated service time (which does not count towards VA benefits unless hurt in LOD)

Hope that helps a little :)

you can receive treatment for issues arising while on orders or travelling to from.
