I filled out my medical history survey, and am pretty worried from what I've been reading on here, about maybe being DQ'd for one or more conditions:
1. About 8 years ago I had a few mild reactions to cashews. Never been diagnosed, but still mentioned it just to be honest. No problems with that for 7 years.
2. I was diagnosed with rather mild scoliosis 3 years ago. Received physical therapy, and I believe it's about 15 or less degrees now.
3. A few months ago I was diagnosed with "lichen sclerosis et atrophicus". No treatment. It is on my mid-stomach and is not giving me any problems. A DQ condition in DoDMERB Regulation is labelled as "lichen platus". Does this count?
If I am DQ'd for any of these, could I likely get a waiver for all of them?

Unfortunately the only way you will really know is to go through the process. A lot goes into these decisions, and some of it depends on the branch and route you are pursuing. It's stressful, but your best bet is to begin collecting medical records from all providers related to these conditions as this can take time. Get your basic exams (physical, eye, hearing) done and be prepared when/if the DQ's come and they ask for Additional Medical Information. Request a copy of your basic exams before you leave just in case there is an issue with Dodmerb receiving them. DS learned this the hard way. Keep an eye on your portal for any updates and requests and respond as quickly as you can. Also have back up plans in place so you are in a good position should you not receive the waivers you need. Best wishes!

Thank you for the advice and direction. This whole process is very confusing to me.
And I am in AROTC

My son is currently in AROTC awaiting a waiver. Feel free to send me a message anytime if you have more specific questions. I’ll do my best to share what we have learned along the way.
