LOA/Acceptance!

Hey everyone! I just got an email from my congressman saying that I received an LOA from USAFA. Given that I've already passed the CFA, DoDMERB, and received a nomination, I'm pretty sure an official Appointment should be coming soon. I'm super excited
Excellent place to be.

“Soon” can still be between now and mid-April, though it probably won’t go that long. They are juggling thousands of candidate statuses, with more to come as the application deadline looms. Check your portal once a day, tend your alternate plans and go enjoy life.

Just from experience, it usually takes a couple of weeks from satisfying the requirements of an LOA to your portal updating with an appointment. If they have already contacted your congressmen that is a good sign the process is underway!

Congratulations! Enjoy the holidays!

Pardon the ignorance, but what is "LOA"?
Welcome new member - keep this handy as you explore the site:

A Letter of Assurance assures the candidate of an appointment, usually if a remaining conditions(s) is met.

And, if that is your real name in your user name, recommend changing it. This is an anonymous internet discussion forum where real names are typically not used, for your own blind protection.

By the way, LOAs are difficult to come by. The vast majority of cadets and midshipmen do not receive one. I tell my students to focus on earning the appointment. If the LOA arrives, all the better!
