Hello everyone, I am looking for a couple of answers.
I received my LOA November 2nd and at that point had everything completed including DODMERB and my CFA except for my Nomination. I just received one from a State Senator and Congressman and they were put into my portal January 10th. Every item in my checklist is completed. Does this guarantee my Appointment to the Air Force Academy and if so, when should I expect to hear from the Academy? Should I be checking my portal daily or will this be done by mail?
Thank you all, this is an awesome forum I have been looking at throughout this process.

An LOA where all the conditions have been met (usually passing medical, CFA and getting mom) is a golden ticket.

Relax. It will be coming.*

*You will check every day anyway.
That last part is so lol, more like every hour though!

"The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part"

We could make a song about that!

I have everything completed, but I'm waiting for a waiver from DoDMERB... Submitted the information for them on August 28th. Does anyone know when waivers are usually looked at?

DODMERB finds you Q or DQ. They do not decide on whether to issue a waiver, or not. That option (to seek a waiver, or not) lies with the waiver authority. USAFA in your case.

Sorry, I meant to say my waiver is under review and has been since August. Just curious when they get around to making a decision.

I think my waiver was way faster than most peoples. USAFA requested and granted a waiver for me in less than 2 weeks, and that was back in August or September. But I think most people say 45-90+ days?

Did you complete your application back in the fall? I haven’t gotten any notice and I got a DQ back in early October. I did wait until this month to submit

I completed everything in the fall and submitted it in August. I just find it crazy that they have no way to formally communicate or get an eta.

I completed the West Point and USAFA app back in August. I completed DoDMERB in the fall and was DQed however both USAFA and USMA requested waivers, but USMA did not grant me one. I think earlier is always better.

In the same boat as you. Submitted my candidate kit in early October. DQ‘d in early November. I sent in supporting documents for my DQ 2 days afterwards (They didn’t request AMI I just sent it in so it would be there for them to see upon reveiw) Still have not heard a word from USAFA regarding a potential waiver.

When did you hear back from them about having the waiver denied? When did USAFA grant you the waiver? Maybe if mine is more complicated, they'll take longer to decide? Honestly have no clue

Received the USAFA waiver back in October, they disqualified me late August/ early September. I actually needed two waivers for USAFA (different injuries), but both were granted in October I believe.

USMA wanted additional medical info, and more x-rays etc, and did not grant me a waiver, that would have been in early January I think.

But it is probably different for every single person. When I was waiting everyone told me to continue to "hurry up and wait", and that seems like that is most of the entire process. Best of luck though!

Update: Got my Appointment 1/27/24 from a call from my Congressmen and it came into my portal yesterday. Thank you all!
