I have been lurking this site ever since my DS, bpanter94, joined it about a year ago. I am very thankful for all the guidence that my DS received from the members of this Forum, with a special thank you to PIMA. I believe all the information and help he got on the Scholarship process along with his hard work was the reason he secured an AFROTC scholarship from the first board. I am very proud of my DS because he knew what he wanted and worked hard to get it. Against my advice, he put all his eggs in one basket. He only applied for the AFROTC scholarship (Plan A). He said that he was only interested in the Air Force so there was no reason to apply for the other services and possably take a scholarship from someone else. Plan B was to join the AFROTC as a College Programmer anyways. Even though I believe with his credentials he was a strong candidate for the AF Academy, he said he wanted to have the regular College experience and opted not apply. He also only applied to just two Universities, which he was accepted too and received merit scholarships from both. Again I like to say I am extremely thankful for this Forum and the help he got from it and hope to be able to use the knowledge we obtained to help others in the future. Good luck to those who are still waiting for the good news of a scholarship, my prayers are with you. For those who might not be as fortunate, dont give up and keep chasing the dream. If you want something bad enough you will find a way to get it.
