I know you guys must get this question a lot
but this is not what are my chances this is how I can really improve.

Here is where I stand

HS Junior

3.6 GPA

One rank away from my Billy Mitchell (Planning on achieving this around April or may).

One Rank away from my Eagle scout (planning on achieving this before March).

Varsity letter in golf

Vice President of 3 stem clubs

990 SAT

1020 PSAT

if you have any other questions, just fire away.

Thank you for your time.

Any response is greatly appreciated

Personally, I believe your SAT needs a lot of improvement. There are a lot of programs out there that can help you achieve a higher SAT score.
according to the USAFA website
“ Students who score below 620 Evidence-based reading and writing or below 580 math on the SAT reasoning test and below 24 English/reading and 25 math/science on the ACT normally will not be competitive for an appointment directly into the Academy”
meaning you want to aim for a composite score of 1200 at the very least. It’s important to improve those scores because if your SAT score ISNT high enough, you may not even be able to apply, as in they won’t allow you to continue the application process once you open/start a file.
You may want to look into khan academy and their free SAT Study service online. They give you various test questions and even full practice tests. I highly recommend looking into that. You can link your college board account to your Khan academy account and get personalized study questions unique to you which can help you improve in the areas you may need improvement in.

Take the standardized tests multiple times. All of my children (only 1 applied to the academy), have improved their scores significantly just with familiarity with the test. The one that actually put effort into improvement by doing test prep improved the most. Try the ACT as well as some students do better on one test versus the other.

Thank you for the response.

This brings up another questionI have.

The PCQ opens March 1st
The next SAT test day is may 7th and March 14th
(I am signed up for both)

should I wait to fill out the PCQ until I have the results back from the may 7th SAT or the march 14th SAT.

You have until December 31, 2020 to fill out your PCQ. You have about 9 months to get that done. Don't rush into it. You won't even be promoted to candidate status until July at the earliest. Because you have a ton of time to fill it out, do not fill it out until you are confident that your SAT scores are competitive. If your March 14 scores arent competitive, don't send them off. Wait until your May 7 scores. If those aren't competitive, don't send them off. Wait until you have another opportunity.

Don't rush this process. You have plenty of time to take the SAT and plenty of time to fill out the PCQ. Don't send off scores that will disqualify you from the get-go.

I would say possibly wait until after the March 14th SAT, then maybe fill out the PCQ. Make sure to study hard for the SAT. But you do have until Dec. 31 to fill out a PCQ which is plenty of time. If you study hard and familiarize yourself with test questions you’ll be ok. You got this

Sync ur SAT with khan academy, set ur self up to do practice questions every day . U can take practice sat too, get busy

+1 - Focus on your SAT/ACT. Take both and figure out which one you are suited to. Then - keep taking it until your scores stop improving. Khan academy is a great tool.
