Like most of you, it is internally killing me waiting for this life changing decision. I am fully aware it is appointment season and was wondering if anyone knows when my portal should update with a decision, or even when the admittance commitee meets. Thank you! SLTW!

I’m in the same boat as you! It’s killing me! To add on, can USMA notify you of a decision even if you’re not yet medically qualified?

You have to be medically qualified before an appointment will be offered.

We understand that it could be between now and June with the majority of appointments being offered March/April! Best of luck. Stay positive and have a good plan B.

Definitely Medically Qualified, pretty confident I'm 3Q, with three nominations, hopefully we all hear soon

Does that include West Point having requested a waiver already? West Point requested a waiver for me back in mid-January (as soon as my medical exam came back as DQ).

Hang in there. The application deadline is not even closed. The admissions committee meets something like every Tuesday. There are a lot of Tuesdays. There is a lot of back and forth between now and 1 May...which is really the day by which you should expect to be notified. Do not let the fact that you can see what is happening to other people on Service Academy Forums discourage you. Keep working out, keep working on your other plans (like did you get your Army ROTC scholarship yet? Did you get into the school at which you will use your scholarship?) and enjoy your time with your family and with your friends at school. We are all going to keep faith with you. This is early February, these are early days. It is a marathon. Do not despair.

You will not be medically qualified until a waiver is approved. An appointment will only be offered after the waiver is granted.

Yes, DS had 2 nominations for class of 2021; eas medically DQ by Dodmerb in Jan. Or Feb. Last year. West Point applied for waiver but he was never 3Qd and eventually waiver was denied 4.24.17. He has been cleared medically this year for a chance at the class of 2022.

Dodmerb cleared him? Or West Point gave him a waiver for 2022?

Dodmerb cleared him for 2022. No waiver required this time. He is now more than 12 months post ligament surgery. He still hasn't been offered an appointment for 2022 though.

Ohh okay thanks. I was wondering because I’m 3 years post op, and I recieved a dq for hip surgery.

If you have no residual issues from your hip surgery, your waiver may come through. Stay positive and send everything they ask for.

Thank you. I’m trying to stay positive seeing the dq codes was very discouraging but I’m still keeping hope. I just came inside from running a mile in 5 and a half minutes I would think if my surgery still affected me I wouldn’t be able to run
