Does your DS have any? Asking for a friendI got my first ear piercing over a 3-day liberty weekend while at NAPS!!
Got it after practice on Friday, and then wore it overnight. Put in one of those sensitive ear clear inserts from the backside and clipped it off in the front with no protruding part so it just looked like an old earring hole. Gunny looked at it briefly at inspection the next week, and didn't even blink. Got two more after leaving the Academy.
I was gonna quote those replies and well yk, reply to them but I didn’t wanna ruffle any feathers. It's interesting to read back to 2011 and consider today as an example of a cultural shift in terms of what's accepted - such as the thought back then that if you wear an earring you must want to be a girl.
I am almost 60. So men wearing earrings, nail polish, piercings and tattoos still bother me. I can live with a stud or a little hoop on the ear but those stretched-out holes both men and women are putting in their ears grosses me out. I can live with a tattoo but the piercing is too much. I hate those little nose studs. At first glance i think their noses are dirty. I realize i sound like an old man, but people have just gone too far, if you ask me. Haha! I'm 61 and I've adjusted mainly by considering that my parents must have said the same thing about things I was wearing/doing/listening/watching at 21 that they thought went too far. I agree about the gauges though (stretched out ears).I am almost 60. So men wearing earrings, nail polish, piercings and tattoos still bother me. Whatever. This is @Capt MJ last year:People have been piercing, branding, scarring, inking, painting, hanging dangly shiny bits, plucking, shaving, modifying (the tongue-slitting thing!!!) and otherwise having fun with their bodies in the name of decoration and beautification or messaging since the first cave person styled a bone through a fleshy part. I think the rest of the animal kingdom must laugh at us.
This year, I added more. A bacon heart! A bacon anchor! A bacon flag!Whatever. This is @Capt MJ last year:
I will say, if I was in the navy I’d get the stereotypical anchor on my outer arm!A bacon anchor!
2019: Me to my DS: "why are you getting a tattoo?" "Nobody will hire you with a tat"
Almost ALL of DS's fellow officers have ink!I'm proving Zack Mayo's dad wrong when he says, "officers don't have tattoos!"
Crispy bacon. No one likes floppy baconThis year, I added more. A bacon heart! A bacon anchor! A bacon flag!
Now I have to keep my biceps toned or it’s gonna be ugly.
At least it's not on your lower back. This year, I added more. A bacon heart! A bacon anchor! A bacon flag!
