So glad VMI extended some scholarship help. I'd heard they were very helpful, DS's adult friends were willing to write letters and all that...and yes, working a little longer(OT when available)is in the cards anymore for all colleges now adays. The financial aid office actually has a set policy of a % compared to the EFC # from the FAFSA that they go by for out of state students. Your friend is correct. We aren't wealthy and can still manage it, which is amazing to me. They were spot on for us according to their formula. I will say that Norwich did offer him more $$ because his academics met their Deans Scholarship criteria, but he was just under the cut for VMI's institute scholar program. Most of the stats I've seen posted here would qualify for those types of financial aid. ROTC is still possible yet too..tomorrow is the big day Just glad we have ducks in a row either way. Praying for positive results during their decision making tomorrow.
