March 8th, 2011 AROTC Board

I think I'm in shock! I almost don't have any emotions right now. DS's page just changed. He was awarded a scholarship! Is this normal to feel so num?

BTW, last name starts with H

Well, it's looking like today may not be the day for 'E' then. They have been working for two days and gotten through 2-3 letters. I suppose it's better than having 'F' postings yet. Does anyone know if CC works weekends? It seemed as though they did with the Jan results.

Good luck to everyone whose letter is approaching! And again, biggest virtual high five for the announced recipients.

Just got in from work...so we've decided that its alphabetical? And the K's should be any minute? Toes/fingers/eyes are crossed!!

Did anyone who was Awarded a Scholarship yesterday and so far today NOT receive the DodMERB letter this past Friday/Monday?

Hi everyone! This is the first time I have ever posted on the board, although I have found myself reading it a whole lot lately! This whole process has been terribly difficult in aspect to "hurry up and waiting". It has, also, been very difficult due to our family doing it on our own without much help or advice from an ROO. As a matter of fact, when I called to speak with him to tell him that my son had received a DoDMERB packet in the mail on the 8th, he told me that everyone gets those and it wasn't a sign at all. I mean, come on, at least tell me that it isn't a bad sign!!

Anyway, I hate to complain, especially since this is my first post, but I had to just get it out and not balled up inside while we anxiously await these results. The gentleman who has been "assisting" us basically told us that we were too late in getting the packet in and that we should just go ahead and jump into the program and hope a 3 yr came along. That was in December, and I realize that was late but decisions can take time and events happen. My DS has received full scholarships to a couple of different schools but we want our options open and this ROO hasn't been positive at all. Going as far as saying that "he would put money on it" that my DS didn't get a scholarship. Talk about being a mentor!!

This post is kind of long, so I apologize, but I just had to tell "someone" who would understand what was going on. Without the ROTC scholarship, my son has decided to still go for the program because the scholarship is not the only reason he wanted to become an Army officer; it's more of a family legacy.

Good luck to everyone! Hopefully, I can post a big ole smiley face on here in the next few hours. Congratulations to those that have already made it and to those I am positive will~~

You aren't alone in feeling that this process is difficult! I think that everyone on these forums, whether they've gotten goods news yet or not, can relate.
Hang in there! And Best of Luck!

Thanks so much! Sometimes misery loves company and I know we all are miserable waiting for these results!

OK, so we've seen H, and now a J, so the K's HAVE to be getting closer. Of course, our "manual inputter" probably just left for the weekend!
