Marine dog with cancer gets tear-filled farewell

MUSKEGON, Mich. — Hundreds of people in Michigan came together to say a tear-filled final goodbye to a cancer-stricken dog who served three tours in Afghanistan with the U.S. Marines.

Stinky Pete has been retired at Paris Island. New pup looks good and will take over parades after training. Daughter learned at PI that he earned his nickname as he would sleep under her desk at HQ. Small Office.

His actual rank is Cpl. Legend but according to all reports he did earn his nickname. Never spent the day in the Colonel's Office.
