Mass Appointments

I did not receive anything from one of my congressional nominations, but if the congressman is not in office anymore is a nomination void?

Nope, the nomination slate he submitted is valid, as long as he submitted it to the Academy. I had one of my Senators retire as well.

So, I called my MOC's office, and they said they would of called me immediately had they heard the news. So, is this bad news, or do I just need to keep waiting? Will they possibly hear this week, or were they told last week?

I talked to my daughter's Nom. staff today.. and was told that the mass appt.'s had just started to go out last week.. they were being made this and next week... en masse.. I believe the whole Month of March is really open.. that is why everyone is saying around 15th.. because it is the median date... a couple weeks before.. after...
I believe the board meets every Wednesday??? Just a guess.. but info always changed on Thursdays... or Wed. nights. Just wait a little longer... and Good Luck!

Dodmerb site

Also of interst.. apparently you can go onto your DODmerb site and see if your status changes.....somehow they update it when you are accepted before anyone knows? the Navy boards have a ton of information on it.. and it listed guys that were accepted to AFA and NAPS.. etc. might be worth a shot to look. Sounded like people then knew about 3-4 days prior to MOCs

CAP_C/2dLt: I think its neither good or bad news. I don't think they will tell you if your slate already has an appointee (and its not you), would they?

Our Senate Staff did. She indicated that appointments were ongoing but that only 2 (including ours) had been notified in our district... and our state is so small, we only have 2 districts.

My wife texted me today saying our son received a big envelope. Turned out to be a false alarm as it was very formal certiificate of recognition for receiving a nomination from the local MOC. It was from the local congressman and even came in a big blue folder. We have known of the nomination for 2 months and we are wondering if any one else out there received a formal certificate from their congressman? Is it common?

My congressman sent me autographed pictures of us from the reception he hosted wishing me good luck :thumb:

congrats LULZ!

Still a long wait here in Jersey...

I received my nomination from Rep. Randy Kuhl who was defeated recently by our now acting Rep. Eric Massa. I called the new office to see if they knew anything about candidate appointments but as they were a new office I don't think they really knew much about the issue (they did say they would look into it). Is anyone else in the same boat who was notified of appointment by their local rep despite the fact that they were newly elected?

I think all the MOCs have a network set up for their nomination committees to communicate with one another. I was nominated by one of my Senators, and later received a letter from my Congressman saying congrats on nom/LOA. But your phone calls will probably be more fruitful (if you want appointment info) if you call admissions or your ALO, rather than MOC.

I just called the admissions office and they said that letters were going to be sent out NEXT week.

Okay, I called admissions also. The answer is: All candidates will be notified one way or another by the "end of this month." So, there you have it. The person I spoke with said they are currently making their "final selections" and all will be notified by the end of the month. Here's hoping for all who are waiting!!!

Oh lawd.

oy, patience.. :)

if it comes it comes. if not, there is always next year. although it's unlikely, some people get appointments as late as june. dont count on that at all. but still possible

Please Oh Please Oh Please let today be the day!

I would say you should stalk the mailman next week, toward the end of the week...
