I did not take a math my junior year as I was coming to the high school I currently attend to take math in 7th grade. So i kind of exhausted the classes my school offered. I am taking AP STAT this year though. But I kinda want to get my recs done ASAP. I talked to my ALO and he seemed to think it was okay for me to use my freshman math teacher since my sophomore teacher is no longer at my school. I was just wondering how you guys think I should go about this. Just use the freshman teacher or wait a little for the senior teacher so they can get to know me better.

I think you know the answer to that question. The first part of the application to SA is a test on following directions. You have a senior Math teacher- ask him/her. Even if you need to wait a few weeks until he can assest you better. Provide him/her a resume so they are more familiar with all you have accomplished. Offer to sit down and talk to him/her about why you want to attend a SA and what your academic strengths are. You can provide your senior teacher the name of your freshman math teacher in case he/she wants to speak with them about you as a student but your senior teacher needs to do the rec. Also there is a HUGE difference in my son between freshman year and senior year. A freshman teacher can not provide the most current assesment of who you have come.
