Medical disqualification

My son received a letter today from USMA stating his medical disqualification is final and that his file is closed. However, if a vacancy were to come open at USMA or the prep school, they could reopen his file and request a waiver. Such a bummer because he received 2 nominations this week. 2 questions: 1. Should I have submitted additional health information without them requesting this to DODMERB? 2. If there is a yellow flag beside your CFA, does that mean it wasn’t accepted?
I know this is a highly competitive process

SON=If you’d like, you may send me an email:

I'm sorry this hasn't worked out for you. I see Mr. Mullen has already responded to you. He is THE one to answer DoDMERB questions.

As for the yellow flag, if I recall correctly the yellow is for received but not yet approved. CFA approval for USMA is a multi-layer process that takes about three individuals. I believe at this point in the cycle they are likely prioritizing those that are likely to get an offer or be high(ish) on the NWL.

CFA approval is a five step (five individual) process. It takes a while, especially depending on when you submit it, it can take weeks-months.

Is the prep school evaluation different than the straight appointment? Or would they just be giving time to see if the medical ‘issue’ is truly a factor?
