Hi all,
I just had my eye and physical appointment done through DODMETS today. Do academies get sent these results? Or just ROTC? How do I get my results sent to an Academy? Thanks.
I was mobile while posting, so I'll elaborate a little more (this is based on my experience and I'm not the bottom line when it comes to Navy Medicine):
-USNA will send you to DODMERB when you cross a certain threshold with respect to completing your application (think it's 35-50%), and they will be sent the results where you will either get qualified or disqualified. To my knowledge they will not send you for a "remedial" appointment for a potential waiver until you receive an LOA, Appointment, or just want you to because they want to (I don't make or question the decisions of Admissions)
-NROTC will send you to DODMERB when you get notified of receiving an NROTC scholarship. If you went to DODMERB for USNA in October, and got an NROTC Scholarship in December, DODMERB will use the physical already done to evaluate you for NROTC and qualify or disqualify you. Because you've already been selected for Scholarship, if the condition is waiver able they will send you to a remedial shortly after, and the decision will be made by the waiver authority from there.
The waiver authority for NROTC is BUMED, I'm not certain as to who the waiver authority for USNA is, but I recall hearing somewhere that they have a different waiver authority that is not BUMED (potentially a Navy Doc attached to USNA?) Potentially some more experienced people/BGOs/Grads can touch on that.
