I am a 34 year old female, and a Junior in college working on my B. degree in Criminal Justice. I had a lp shunt placed 10.5 years ago with no complications, and no other problems. I am really wanting to join the Army ROTC at the college I am transferring to in August. Because I am a Junior in college I would have to go through the excellerated part of it. My question is can I join Army ROTC with my lp shunt? (this is placed in my spine and goes around to the abdominal area, under the skin). I am currently talking to Army recruiters, they told me to get all my medical records together and they would submit them to MEPS. I have spoke to numerous doctors regarding this, one nureosugeron told me that he didnt see a problem with this, he spoke of a Air Force pilot he knew that has a lp shunt. What is everyone's elses opinion regarding this? Thanks for your help.

Everyone else's opinion doesn't matter. The waiver authority has replied to me and I will reply to you via email:thumb:
