Can someone clarify the DODMERB posts? Some seem to have been sent links to begin, some haven't. At what stage is someone sent a request to complete one? Those who have a LOA?

LOA is not a trigger for DODMERB scheduling. The short answer is - the candidate has a checklist of items to submit as part of their candidate application and once the candidate has made substantial progress in submitting elements within the student's control, the milestone is unlocked and instructions are provided.

USCGA has a small admissions staff and they are very busy this time of year. Processing all the EA paperwork takes time and as @shiner said they are looking down their checklist for substantial progress for each applicant before they request the DODMERB action. Not having DODMERB complete will not prevent you from getting a conditional admissions offer. The admissions offers and DODMERB are two separate processes. Yes, in the end you need to be DODMERB approved or have an approved wavier by May 1, 2020 to attend.

Good luck!

My DS completed his app on 10/14, just before the EA deadline. His DoDMERB wasn’t triggered until 10/25.

So, to clarify - does everyone who applies receive a request for medical - or just those who are being considered for an appointment? If my DS applied EA in October but has not received one, would that indicate that he is probably NOT being considered? Just trying to understand the process. And, lastly, if someone is being considered for Scholars, would they receive a Med Request as well?

I submitted application on October 14, got DodMets invite October 21. Going for vision screening and physical today.
