Pardon the sermon- but it's Christmas Eve and I am thinking of the perennial all time favorite- A Charlie Brown Christmas. Charlie's classic cry- "Isn't there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?" Linus knows and recites from the Christmas story from Luke 2: 8-14. Douglas MacArthur was a pompous self interested egotist in many ways but even a blind squirrel finds an acorn occasionally and he nailed it to perfection in his last visit to West Point- "A soldier above all others prays for peace because he must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of War". All of you who participate in this web site are potential or current soldiers or the parents of them- so tonight I hope that you are also are asking like Charlie Brown- what's the true meaning of Christmas, and that we are all visited with the spirit of the season- "13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
