MMI SAP Fall '24 Admission Parent's Group

Go ahead and put the application directly to MMI. Because of state requirements, we need to have all the usual documents like final transcript, immunization record, contact information, etc. Since he is a Falcon Scholar LTC Bowen will be keeping up with his application process and his acceptance to the school is a formality.
 
Starting to make plans to drop our DS off this Fall. Anyone else dropping off on Aug 1st?
 
Does anyone have intel on the process for reapplying to USMA for the class of '29? Does any of their information from the Class of '29 transfer? I know that he will need another Congressional Nom and that the DODMERBs should still be valid. Do letters of rec and transcripts transfer?
 
We just returned from dropping our Marion Made son off yesterday at West Point R Day. We arrived a couple days ahead, so we had all Sunday to attend events at WP. Everywhere we went, my son ran into Marion classmates. It was great to see.

It was great to run into you, Frank. As you know, being Marion Made is a real thing. MMI cadets at West Point have an impressive built-in support network not only with members of their MMI class, but previous MMI classes at USMA.
 
My son got his housing information a few days ago! This is getting real. Less than a month to go until they report in!

It's starting to get real. This is our first to leave home, and our DD is a year behind him. We're going to be empty-nesters before you know it.
 
I don't see anything on the packing list for shoes to be worn with uniforms other than the boots. Does anyone know if they are supposed to bring black shoes?
 
Your youngins/Cadets, will be issued EVERYTHING military/uniform related. You guys are only responsible for what's on the list provided by MMI. Do make sure your Cadet has a really good backpack/running shoes/laptop. If there are things you think your Cadet may need, but isn't on the list, I would suggest waiting until they get there, get acclimated and they'll let you know.

A lot of us do understand the "checklist" mindset, heck, thee's even checklists for the checklists. LOL So much to think of, think about, making sure every T is crossed and every i dotted. We were twitchy last year at this time as well. Trust in the process, trust in all you've raised your youngin' to be. It's almost hand wringing time. The next couple of weeks will pass quickly, as will the next 5 months. Hang in there... by Christmas you'll have a better idea of what lies ahead. Good luck to your DS.

Here you go. Don’t know if this is representative of full year but here’s what I was given for fall semester for my son.
