Just to set expectations, remember a lot of those remaining appointments are earmarked for NAPS, Foundation and direct-from-fleet sailors. I was just discussing this with a poster privately and I'll explain what I mean.Hey folks! I’m not from MN but I’m from CO (where there is also little to no movement appointment wise to my knowledge). A friend showed me something that will hopefully encourage yall waiting. I attached it below.
Yes of course, but if you look at the USNA website it states that 1400 appointments are given out. Yes other individuals receive NAPS and foundation and that does cut into the numbers. But every year admissions doesn’t give out appointments the same amount in a certain set time frame. I’ve seen a lot of people say that most appointments come out in a certain time but that differs year to year. And if USNA tells kids at CVW when most appointments will come out, I’m pretty sure appointments will come out in the said time frame.Just to set expectations, remember a lot of those remaining appointments are earmarked for NAPS, Foundation and direct-from-fleet sailors. There are roughly 200 at NAPS who will not get offered their appointments until a few days before they graduate, which is early May. Plus there's roughly 45 Foundation students who will also receive appointments. That's nearly 250 for those. Then you have a few which will come from the fleet directly without going to NAPS first, which will be about another 20 (there were 19 in the class of 2027).
If you look at the 2027 class profile, you will see there were 1175 in the class of 2027. Of that, 195 came from NAPS, 44 from Foundation, 19 from the Fleet and 97 were college re-applicants. Therefore, that leaves 820 spots for direct from high school admits. If 500 have already gone out, that leaves roughly 320. (This number could be high because the class of 2028 will be slightly lower than past years.)
Make sure you have Plans B, C, and D lined up.
Good point. I should look at appointments offered instead of accepted. In that case, there's probably about 600 appointments out there to be offered to non-fleet, NAPS and Foundation students.Yes of course, but if you look at the USNA website it states that 1400 appointments are given out.
