My son has his Marine ROTC interview next week. Is the PFT performed at that time or is it set up separately? The email he received after submitting his application from the local officer was a little unclear. He was told to arrive in business casual attire for the interview, but the email also mentioned he would need to take the physical fitness test, but didn't state if it would take place on the same day or later. I understand the test is administered by a Marine, just not sure of the timing.

My DS had his interview and PFT the same day. I think it is pretty common to do them both on the same day. My DS's PFT was administered by the SSGT and GySgt from the local RSS. The interview as held after by the CPT.

Last year DD did the PFT immediately folowing the interview portion. She arrived in business/interview clothing then changed for fitness portion. Not sure if all areas complete the same way, but it would be best to be prepred to complete both portions on the same day. Good luck to him!

I imagine each RS is different but- in the case of my DS this September - the first couple of hours were spent filling out paperwork, getting a picture (interview clothes required- coat, tie, etc), then change into PT gear. Run PFT. Candidates that don't meet minimum scores are sent home. Change back into interview clothes. Officer interviews (45min) were done in order of PFT finish.
